This is one fabulous product. Prolong EP2 - Extreme High Performance Multi-Purpose Grease does exactly what it says it will do. And proven when the wheel bearings on a BMW, 1989, was making a loud grinding noise.

 

In these circumstances, our initial reaction is to replace the worn part. The vehicle owner decided to try Prolong EP2 - Extreme High Performance Multi-Purpose Grease while waiting for his new bearing delivery. This was in 2005.

 

3 years on and the wheel bearing is still quiet as a mouse. Actually, it's even quieter than a mouse because it doesn't even squeak. And there's still no need to replace the original part.

 

Prolong EP2 Grease was also applied to the drive shaft (drive axle) cv joint when that started making a clonking sound. The sound very soon disappeared after the vehicle was driven about a mile.

 

Seeing this has a big money saver, the vehicle owner proceeded to apply the grease where he could. 

 

Prolong EP2 Grease can be easily applied to cv joints by unclipping the smaller end of the gaitor or boot and inserting the grease gun.

 

It is well worth attaching a plastic tube to the end of the grease gun nozzle as an extension, if this is necessary. This will allow you to apply the grease without over stretching or having to remove the entire boot or gaitor.

 

If you are unable to do this yourself, seek help from a competent friend or mechanic.        

 

It is also known for wheel bearings and cv joints , that have been applied with ordinary grease, to suffer serious metal fatigue whilst the vehicle is being driven over long distances when the outside temperature is excess of 32° celcius.
