Warranty Details

Q: Can I find out more about the warranty before I buy anything?

A: Yes you can, just call us on the number provided on this website, email us with your question, or send us a stamped, self-addressed envelope and we will send you a copy.

Q: Is this really a 'life-time' warranty?

A: Yes, the Prolong Limited Product Engine Treatment Warranty may be extended on an eligible vehicle for as long as you own it…the lifetime of your car! All you have to do is use Prolong Engine Treatment first, followed by Prolong Engine Treatment Booster every 6 months or 6,000 miles. A warranty form is enclosed with your first Prolong Engine Treatment.

Q: What does the warranty cover?

A: A limited product warranty only covers or applies to what a product does or effects, so the Prolong Lifetime Engine Treatment Warranty covers all lubricated parts of a vehicle engine, provided the required oil level and service are maintained and Prolong Engine Treatment is properly installed.
Specifically:

Piston and piston rings, crankshaft and main bearings, rocker arm and pivots, rod and rod bearings, distributor drive gear, timing gears or sprockets, valve heads and valve springs, valve lifters, stem and guides, wrist pins and bushings, cylinder linings and bores, oil pump, oil pan, push rods, keepers and retainers, cam shaft and bearings, cam follower and balancer, all internal lubricated parts of the block and head.

Q: Are all cars eligible for this 'life time' warranty?

A: Prolong offers the most generous engine treatment warranty available, allowing coverage for vehicles with up to 100,000 miles! Most of the vehicles on the road will qualify; passenger cars, vans or lightweight pick-up trucks weighing 3.5 tonnes or less, and not used for emergency, commercial, racing, delivery, competition, livery, military, off-road or agricultural purposes, or in any manner not recommended by the vehicle manufacturer and must be under 10 years old, privately owned or leased with a current MOT Certificate and not modified or altered from the vehicle manufacturers original specifications.

Q: Must I use Prolong Engine Treatment Booster size to renew my warranty?

A: The patented formula treats the metal of your engine, using the motor oil as a conduit. In order to maintain the maximum level of protection first achieved when you install Prolong Engine Treatment, the product needs to be re-applied after an oil change. A certain amount of the product remains on the engine metal, so the full 354ml is not required for replenishment. The 236ml Booster size is sufficient and more economical. However, if you wish to apply a full 354ml treatment, it is perfectly fine to do so. It is not detrimental to the engine, just less economical.
